About this movie

From award-winning writer-director Frank Darabont (The Shawshank Redemption) and best-selling author Stephen King's novel comes the story of a man who didn't believe in miracles. Multiple Academy Award winner Tom Hanks leads a dynamic cast in a tale about life, death and the wonders of the human spirit, The Green Mile. Death row head guard Paul Edgecomb (Hanks--Forrest Gump, Philadelphia) has walked many inmates down the stretch of green linoleum that leads to Louisiana's electric chair. But never has he encountered anyone like John Coffey (Michael Clarke Duncan--Armageddon), a massive black man convicted of brutally killing two little white girls. When pain cripples Edgecomb, Coffey reaches from behind bars to lay healing hands on the stricken guard and rid him of the infection that racks his body.

A timeless classic, with such a touching story, legendary cast, soundtrack, effects, and emotions with masterpiece performances by Tom Hanks, and Michael Clarke Duncan, a film that truly hits the heart, thanks to these two. It'll always be legendary, and will never lose it's touch, with such emotion packed scenes, and messages behind it. Truly unforgettable. From the start, to finish, a must watch, a film that never has a dull part, and will always have you emotionally bonded with it. 15.7.23

I watch this movie with my wife around the time it came out 2000 we cried almost through the movie and we saw the racism in the characters from the father of the girls to Percy and some of the inmates and the staff but we saw that some of the guards we not racists but had to do a job and they reaped the rewards of being in the light of an Angel.
