About this movie

Fitzgerald-like, would-be writer Nick Carraway leaves the Midwest and comes to New York City in the spring of 1922. Chasing his own American Dream, Nick lands next door to a mysterious, party-giving millionaire, Jay Gatsby, and across the bay from his cousin, Daisy, and her philandering, blue-blooded husband, Tom Buchanan. It is thus that Nick is drawn into the captivating world of the super rich, their illusions, loves and deceits. As Nick bears witness, within and without of the world he inhabits, he pens a tale of impossible love, incorruptible dreams and high-octane tragedy, and holds a mirror to our own modern times and struggles. 2013 Bazmark Films. This film is superbly written and acted, its really powerful presentation of everything wrong with people and there is no way this is anything other than a masterpiece of cinema. Warning, you have to see it on a big screen of 65 inch and over as its got tremendous cinematography that captures the essence of the story, it will become stunted when viewed on a small screen. Well done Baz and Leonardo, Toby, etc.

Visually appealing but probably won't watch it again. Thought Gatsby was a little insane. Don't see what all the hype is about. People told me it was a sad movie but I didn't feel an expression of emotion towards these characters, probably because they were undeveloped.

Modern music, stupid 'special' effects and camera angles that didn't make sense. This all detracted from a classic story. Not even worth the hype.
