But always what you hope for. In a brilliant turn from acclaimed director Wes Anderson, comes a joyous romp with some of cinema's newest oddballs. Sadder, funnier, and faster than you'd expect it to be, the Grand Budapest Hotel is a wonderful collection of scattered stories and the tenuous umbrella that holds them all together. Hold each other until the very end. It is the people that make the story worth telling.

This is a masterpiece. As a graphic designer, the colour palette in every part of this movie was so soft and beautiful. Every frame of this movie is worth an editorial place in a photography book. My second favourite after Darjeeling Limited.

Wes Anderson really shows his film making strength here. He steps away from the (and not in a negative sense) childishness of his most popular films and tackles violence and sexuality with all the charm and wit he does everything else with.
