About this movie

One of the greatest sagas in movie history continues. In this third film in the epic Corleone trilogy, Al Pacino reprises the role of powerful family leader Michael Corleone. Now in his 60's, Michael is dominated by two passions: freeing his family from crime and finding a suitable successor. That successor could be fiery Vincent (Andy Garcia)... but he may also be the spark that turns Michael's hope of business legitimacy into an inferno of mob violence. Francis Ford Coppola directs Pacino, Garcia, Diane Keaton, Talia Shire, Eli Wallach, Sofia Coppola, Joe Montegna and others in this exciting, long-awaited film that masterfully explores the themes of power, tradition, revenge and love. Seven Academy Award nominations for 1990 were the result, including Best Picture.

The Godfather 1 and 2 are my most favourite movie ever but the 3rd is good but more about redemption than the dramatic crime itself. It had a very sad ending and had a lot of its normal blood but nothing about Mafia power and family relations. I recommend it highly but you probably will not like it as much as the others

I'm not going to be one of those that compares this film with part I and II because this is simply a continuation story and for years I have had nothing great to say about it. As a personal opinion It stands on its own with some minor flaws but for what it was I enjoyed it.

This among the other well respected two films is necessary to conclude Michael's reign. None the less Coppola still directed a marvelous movie. And I rate it five stars like its predecessors.
