About this movie

Based on the extraordinary true story of the greatest small-boat rescue in Coast Guard history, The Finest Hours is a tale of courage, loyalty and honor in the face of overwhelming odds. When a massive storm strikes off the coast of Cape Cod, it rips a T-2 oil tanker in half, trapping more than 30 sailors on its rapidly sinking stern. As Captain Bernie Webber (Chris Pine) and his crew set out in a 12-seat rescue boat to save them, Chief Engineer Ray Sybert (Casey Affleck) struggles to buy his men more time. Packed with heroic larger-than-life action and driven by the men’s faith in their mission, themselves and one another, The Finest Hours is a triumph.

Chris Pine played a character who in the beginning was a total doormat but you see him grow throughout the movie. Most people would have given up on a situation that seemed impossible but he never did. No matter how much everyone struggled they all pulled together and made the best of their situation.

the movie is very emotional and very tense though out the movie , i gave it a five star because it's heart warming near the end. the actors in this movie did a real good job as to make the story as it happened long time ago. if you are going to watch i highly recommend you watch it. the only reason why it is rated P13 is because some of the scene are scary or somthing kids might be afraid of. the movie it self is clean no sex no swear words. enjoy the movie

There's an old adage about courage: the courageous don't lack fear, rather they find a way to keep going *despite* their fear. Pine's character in this movie embodies that definition. He's quiet and humble, but volunteers to put himself in harm's way because that's part of his job. The movie starts with a leisurely pace, but picks up steam quickly and you just might find yourself on the edge of your seat.
