About this movie

Controversial and popular from the moment it opened, The Exorcist endures as a defining classic that influenced movies afterward and still shocks and haunts today. The frightening and realistic tale of an innocent girl inhabited by a terrifying entity, her mother's frantic resolve to save her and two priests -- one doubt-ridden, the other a rock of faith -- joined in battling ultimate evil always leaves viewers breathless. In the Extended Director's Cut, director William Friedkin and producer/screenwriter William Peter Blatty integrated over 10 minutes of footage deleted before the film's 1973 release. They include moments deepening the impact of a first-rate ensemble's remarkable performances and reinforcing the film's grip on its audience. A phenomenon of its time and for all time, The Exorcist astonishes and unsettles like no other movie. MPAA Rating: R Rated R for strong language and disturbing images. My All Time Favorite! I was 10 years old when I first saw The Exorcist. My eldest sister took me along with her to the movies. All I can remember is screaming lets just go..please lets just go..im so scared please take me home...but what was even more frightening was knowing its not that she doesnt wanna leave...shes scared to move...we were in ultimate terror...I love It...The Exorcist is a wonderful classic I will always love.

The best horror film of all time...some where in the back of viewers mind this movie seems real even though its acting..but getting a 12 year old girl to play the role she did. Was scary enough...and to keep her in the right state of mind....this is the most evil it can get...

I had seen the original on tv alot of times before buying this uncut on dvd before. I just had to get it for the 'never before seen' footage. And the footage made the movie even creepier. The parts that creep me out (to this day) are Regean's spiderwalk down the stairs. And what she does with the cross (which they've never shown when they had aired it on tv for obvious reasons). I only remember reading that part in the book (which I never finished since I had to return it to my local library).
