About this movie

Simon is a timid man, scratching out an isolated existence in an indifferent world. He is overlooked at work, scorned by his mother, and ignored by the woman of his dreams. He feels powerless to change any of these things. The arrival of a new co-worker, James, serves to upset the balance. James is both Simon’s exact physical double and his opposite - confident, charismatic and good with women. To Simon’s horror, James slowly starts taking over his life.

Formless, not easily adapted as Dostoevsky himself would admit. Far too much symbolism.. A lot like Pink Floyd's "The Wall" meets "Fight Club" without the good music. Nice try, 3 stars for the brave attempt, but this work was not suitable for a motion picture adaptation...

A comedy? Interesting. I didn't realize and now I don't feel bad for laughing. The film is dark, literally dark in the beginning and sets the tone for what will take place. Eisenberg gets along with himself really well and it is difficult to believe he's playing a doppelganger. Little bits of subliminal messages are hidden throughout and Ayoade once again proves his genius. He is an original talent and is doing things that I have never seen before. I recognized one of his styles from Submarine.

Such a head trip. Jesse Eisenberg played his part brilliantly. Awesome film to get lost in. Let's hope he's as good as lex Luther in BvS.
