About this movie

Christopher Nolan returns to complete the Gotham trilogy that launched with Batman Begins and reached the stratosphere with the billion dollar blockbuster The Dark Knight. Inception's Marion Cotillard and Joseph Gordon-Levitt join the cast regulars along with Anne Hathaway as Selina Kyle (aka Catwoman) and Tom Hardy as the powerful villain Bane. Christian Bale prowls the night as the Caped Crusader, fighting crime and corruption with the help of Michael Caine, Morgan Freeman and Gary Oldman.

This was Nolan's chance to cement himself into the history books of cinema. Instead he followed the formula of Hollywood - and shame on him. Our story is not like the other two. This one has no credibility or believability in the action sequences. Batman just seems to jump back to the eighties and becomes indestructible like Schwarzenegger or Stallone. That's a sell out to the first two. This story didn't deserve to end well. Batman is a tragic hero - always destined to lose the ones he loves or drive them away because of the choices he makes. This is a Hollywood ending and it really was a slap in the face. Bane breaks the bat. Then a new bat is initiated in the comic book saga. It was a better storyline and could have made another solid movie or two with Bale having a minimal involvement. I was just disappointed by the whole thing. The dark knight was a high point and remained anchored to traditional batman values. Anyone who gave this higher than a 3 needs to take another look.

Obviously without a connection to the Internet you are screwed here, and if your Wi-Fi is slow your also kinda screwed. But, this film is brilliant. It dives into the darker depths of the Batman universe. Bane isn't as menacing as the Joker however is still much better than the Scarecrow, who also appears in this film. As for Batman, you don't see a lot of screen time. Bruce is in it more than him, but for obvious reasons. Catwoman is sexy, as meant to be and is also played well. There is a plot twist in the story as well. Obvious or not is your decision. Action is pretty good here, however the suspense steals the show, just like the previous one. You should rent this film. Several times. And show it to your friends. Even if you don't have a Nexus Q.

The Dark Knight Rises is an even bigger attempt at making Batman sophisticated and relevant in today's cynical society than The Dark Knight and it's obvious that this one is the most geared towards adults but it just comes across as dull and it feels like all the fun and enjoyment of the previous installment has just been sucked out of this one. Not to mention the plotholes and character errors that are enough to make anyone with even instinctive knowledge of the Batman character want to pick up their popco
