About this movie

Visionary filmmaker Christopher Nolan's sequel to the highly successful "Batman Begins" sees Batman (Christian Bale) as he raises the stakes in his war on crime. With the help of Lieutenant Jim Gordon (Gary Oldman) and District Attorney Harvey Dent (Aaron Eckhart), Batman sets out to dismantle the remaining criminal organizations that plague the city streets. What's with Batman's husky voice. It was very off-puttying throughout the whole movie. The general story was okay, but nothing to write home about. Just as well I rented it on sale for $0.99!

The Dark Knight is amazing. Not just because Nolan's direction brought a gritty realism to Batman. Not even because Heath Ledger gives the performance of his life to surpass even Jack Nicholson. The Dark Knight is amazing because there is an entire second layer, a commentary on the political world of the 2000s, and whether evil can be defeated without compromising the values you seek to defend. Watching with that in mind gives The Dark Knight new depth.

This movie is not only the pinnacle of superhero films but one of the greatest films of all time, the performances, the script, editing, action sequences, are all oscar worthy. But what really separates this film from other superhero movies is its exploration of the hero and the villian, by highlighting the sacrifice the hero makes coupled with the devastating realization that hero's existence directly manifests the villians who challenge him . Brilliant and thought provoking about the nature of good vs evi
