About this movie

The timeless Hispanic legend comes to terrifying life in “The Curse of La Llorona.” She is The Weeping Woman and those who hear her death call in the night are doomed. She creeps in the shadows and preys on the children, desperate to replace her own. In 1970s Los Angeles, La Llorona is stalking the night—and the children. Ignoring the eerie warning of a troubled mother suspected of child endangerment, a social worker and her own small kids are soon drawn into a frightening supernatural realm. Their only hope to survive La Llorona’s deadly wrath may be a disillusioned priest and the mysticism he practices to keep evil at bay, on the fringes where fear and faith collide.

Unfortunately I watched this entire film. if I see another film from the producers of Insidious or The Conjuring or whatever paranormal scare tactic film that's on the market now with the producers producing more I think I might say the hell with it. I have had a belly full of the unexpecting family unleashing and being terrorized by the vengeful Spirit deal. I believe it is time to retire this particular genre for a little while. May the power of Christ compel you!

Slow with Few Thrills The Curse of La Llorona was disappointing for me. First of all, I thought that the evildoer did not look very realistic. It was if she was picked off of the streets on Halloween night, wearing generic makeup and a torn costume from Wal-Mart. I felt that the origin of the folk tale was not explained well. I also thought that the plot puttered along and contained very few scares along its way. I felt that the ending of the movie was hogwash for a contemporary legend!

Since I am a huge Conjuring fan I was really looking forward to this movie but when I watched it I was extremely disappointed. The problems with the movie for me is how ungodly stupid these characters are through the whole movie. Also most of the scares are predictable and cliche but some were clever and effective like the car scene. And also why does this movie take place in LA? The only postives for me are some scares, effective tense scenes and the makeup and design of La Llorona.
