This is perhaps one of the best films I can think of. When I first saw it in the theaters, a long time ago, I couldn't help but think that the main characters and actors were wrong and should have been reversed. I had seen Guy Pierce in Ravenous, Rules of Engagement, and Memento. I thought he was the next Gary Oldman the way he was able to become the characters he portrayed. I really didn't know who Jim Caviezel was at the time. However, once I watched the movie in the theater, I realized that the actors were right where they were supposed to be. Henry Cavill has really come a long way from this role as Albert to Clark Kent/Superman. The movie is great and I highly recommend it to anyone. I will also say that I now feel like an old man watching this. I see the differences in the film production qualities between then and now.

You could call this a period piece, but in truth the setting is little more than the canvas that the characters are painted on. This story could be presented in just about any time period, and indeed it has been retold countless times in different genres, but it's never been done so well as this. This is my all-time favorite movie. I highly recommend it.

Two best friends or so you think. The Unforgivable betrayals Get their punishment All in Good Time. You can't help but to feel just like Edmond felt upon learning of his"Best Friends plot to send him to the prison Chateau D'iff for life." Angry, Hurt , Betrayed and Longing for the day he gets revenge on All of them. Outstanding acting from Jim Caviezel and Guy Pierce.
