My only gripe is it isn't longer. I know Alexander Dumas didn't go into all the detail about all the characters. But I could not help wanting more and learning more about all the characters in fantastic adaptation.

I've watched this movie about a thousand times and still love it. I love how Edmond Dantez was taught by a former Military Captain of Napolean how to fight with a sword, escaped a prison and end up having pirate friends, finding a hidden treasure, made a reputation as "Count Monte Cristo" and winning his old fiance back after being betrayed by his bestfriend. Epic! The story line is just EPIC!!! MUST WATCH!!

This will forever be my favorite film! Though it is vastly different from the story Alexandre Dumas wrote back in the 1840's.. which also happens to be my favorite book. You'd think I'd be more judgemental on the movie itself, but really Kevin Reynolds did a fantastic job directing it.. and really, could you ask for a more perfect cast? Round of applause to every aspect of this film!
