The 2015 uk tv production 'the enfield hauntings' is much better however, less sfx but much more realistic and subtly scary. The real hero was Morris Groves portrayed by timothy spall...must watch! Superbly acted production opposed to well acted but sfx driven!

I know its a movie but its completely over dramatised its a whole new story. Whats the point of using a story from the past if youre going to twist it and co pletky form it into something else. Awful. Two points for patrick wilson singing my favourite elvis track. Thats it.

The film is decent, but it irks me how they used a real event that the Warrens didn't really have much to do with to promote the Warrens. During the "real" haunting, the Warrens were 2 of many investigators to come to Hodgsons house but had in fact turned up uninvited and had been asked to leave by not only the lead investigators, but also the Hodgsons themselves. Ed had also gone up to one of the lead investigators and said that they could make a lot of money from the investigation. The day after turning up to the house, the Warrens left and went back home. The film, however, depicts the Warrens as having had selflessly saved the Hodgsons from a demon, that wasn't actually in the hauntings, and risked their lives to help the Hodgsons. It's a decent film, but it is a bit insensitive that the film has "based on true events" and "uncover the truth" plastered over it when the only truth about the film is that the people existed.
