The Chronicles of Riddick (Theatrical)

Seems to be a poor rehashing of Pitch Black, the original Riddick movie. It would have been nice to delve deeper into the Furian mythology instead of sending him back to a desert planet with monsters trying to kill everyone when the rain comes. Sound familiar?

Got little fan fare but a solid action movie hitting on all cylinders if you just want something to enjoy watching. On par with Terminator intensity.

The follow up to Pitch Black takes a different approach for a sequel. Instead of a monster flick, it becomes an epic LOTR style adventure about a man with a destiny. The mythology built in this film has potential to create a vast universe comparable the the star wars extended universe. Hokey at times but a fun film with untapped potential.
