The Chronicles of Narnia: Prince Caspian, was one of the slowest movies I have seen in a while. Not to say it was a bad movie, because it wasn't. It was just that the execution of the movie was really slow and could of used some help. This movie is full of very cool action scenes and effects, as well as strong dialog throughout the film. This movie was definitely worth watching and I suggest renting it when you get the chance. Although this movie was really well made, it will never be as good as the first movie in the series.

As I thoroughly enjoyed the first chronicle of Narnia in film format, I was very much looking forward to the second. As I imagine the subject matter of this story is a little bit headier than the first, the movie pays tribute to that with a much more savage film (to paraphrase a line from one excellent character). It is refreshing to see the world of Narnia in a different light than in the first film, but just as the child characters are shocked by the changes, the viewer goes through the same shock and awe. This makes the film a little less cookie cutter than the first, although it is hardly unpredictable. The visuals and cinematography are breathtaking as usual; it is once again remarkable how they manage to incorporate creatures into the world in such a seamless manner that you easily forget where the real world ends. This magical property again befits a Narnia film, even one much harsher and dark throughout than its predecessor.

I have always been a huge Narnia fan, and the first time I saw this movie, I really didn't like it. If you're wanting a good adaption of the book, look elsewhere. If you're looking for a good interpretation, here is fine. It has taken me awhile, but this is definitely one of my favorite movies now. It gets better the more you watch it. Just wish they would keep going with the franchise.
