Perhaps the end redeems it, but i couldnt get through the first hour. I think my main issue was that the characters were not believable.

This was a good movie. I would give it 6 stars if I could. This is a very realistic story, of a very tragic and beautiful couple in Belgium. But, the Ballad of Alabama & Monroe will certainly leave you believing in love, at its core. And then bring you right back into reality. I will have to come back to this movie, but I will have to give it some time, to let my heart strings heal.
