About this movie

One of the most popular horror classics of all time and an acclaimed sequel to the original Frankenstein. The legendary Boris Karloff reprises his role as the screen's most understood monster who now longs for a mate of his own. Colin Clive is back as the overly ambitious Dr. Frankenstein, who creates the ill-faed bride (Elsa Lanchester). Directed by the original's James Whale (his last horror film) and featuring a haunting musical score, The Bride of Frankenstein ranks as one of the finest films not only of the genre, but for all time. 2008 Universal Studios. The Bride of Frankenstein is often considered superior to the film it is a sequel to, and I have to agree with that assessment. Karloff manages to bring some genuine, if limited, pathos to the character of the monster, but the real joy is with the villain Dr. Pretorious (Ernest Thesiger). With his trapezoid of white hair atop his angular features, he easily inhabits a role he clearly relishes. Humorously macabre, the film isn't necessarily scary but it is thoroughly entertaining. Lastly the editing and cinematography, not to mention the elaborate set design, are a real treat for lovers of old Hollywood. Watch it with your friends!

Albeit humorous in parts, this movie is awesome. James Whale was one heck of of a Director, and man does it show! From the Elsa Lanchester intro (and outro), to the emotional old blind man scene, this is chock full of memorable parts sewn together with expert precision!

Its a classic. I saw it when I was 6 because my parents knew it would not be scary for me. I suggest you should watch it to if you like horror classics.
