About this movie

Jennifer Lopez (Maid in Manhattan, Out of Sight, Monster-in-Law, The Wedding Planner) stars as Claire Peterson, a high school literature teacher struggling to get back in the dating game after separating from her cheating husband (John Corbett, TV’s Parenthood and United States of Tara). When handsome and charismatic 19-year-old Noah (Ryan Guzman, Step Up series, TV’s Pretty Little Liars) moves in next door, Claire has a moment of weakness that leads to an extremely intense and intimate night together. Noah’s attraction quickly turns into a dangerous, violent obsession, forcing Claire to her limits as she protects her world from being torn apart. Forced to go see this movie and i expected it be terrible....and it was!!! Majorally predictable and they hyped it up as to be some really good story and characters. This movie sux and its just ur typical "Obsessed" creep movie, nothing special. Only reason people went to see it was cuz J Lo got all sexual and such whether they admit it or not.

I absolutely hated the beginning. When i watched it in theaters i thought to myself "When is this going to end?" It was very cheesy. However after the sex scene things started to pick up. And it got better...However when it got to the ending it blew up in your face again. So much was left out. Honestly i believe this movie could've been a hit if they took more time with the script and filming.. it should've been longer in my opinion ( With the improvement of the script). But yeah it's okay

The Boy Next Door delivers enough with it's premise and the drama of the film is a scary bit with good suprises and JLo puts up a good fight as Claire. I really like the character of Noah, he's like Ma that Blumhouse did later, and things do get quite disturbing. A fun suspense film with JLo herself! 3 and a half out of 5 cause there are better films like this but this might be a little underrated.
