About this movie

The Biggest Little Farm chronicles the eight-year quest of John and Molly Chester as they trade city living for 200 acres of barren farmland and a dream to harvest in harmony with nature. Through dogged perseverance and embracing the opportunity provided by nature's conflicts, the Chesters unlock and uncover a biodiverse design for living that exists far beyond their farm, its seasons, and our wildest imagination. Featuring breathtaking cinematography, captivating animals, and an urgent message to heed Mother Nature's call, The Biggest Little Farm provides us all a vital blueprint for better living and a healthier planet.

I found this to be an inspirational story about making a massive commitment to change a small corner of the world, and the impact, learning, and patience that can result. The film is beautifully shot over many years, so you see transformation of a blank canvas to a complex ecosystem on the farm, carefully and thoughtfully nurtured by its caretakers, and equally nurtured by nature's unyielding influence.

Beautiful! All the way through. Great storyline of how the farm got started and it's development. The cinematography is outstanding. It makes me want to buy a farm and I am already an advocate for this way of taking care of the earth. So educational about how life needs to be balanced and the challenges we face in trying to accomplish that. Inspirational about how to step back when looking at problems before reaching for a traditional answer.

Just beautiful. Gorgeous cinematography, hopeful message, and leaves you wanting to go live your own crazy dream. Well done to the farmers and all of the co-creative critters that conspired to make this little farm such a stunningly beautiful and prolific place to live.
