About this movie

It’s great to be Spider-Man (Andrew Garfield). For Peter Parker, there’s no feeling quite like swinging between skyscrapers, embracing being the hero, and spending time with Gwen (Emma Stone). But being Spider-Man comes at a price: only Spider-Man can protect his fellow New Yorkers from the formidable villains that threaten the city. With the emergence of Electro (Jamie Foxx), Peter must confront a foe far more powerful than himself. And as his old friend, Harry Osborn (Dane DeHaan), returns, Peter comes to realize that all of his enemies have one thing in common: Oscorp.

I love this movie... I could tell from the trailer that gwen was going to die but other than that it was awesome... for those who think rhinos suit is stupid he has a mechanical suit in the ultimate spiderman comics line and for those who think he was wasted he will return in the sinister six... that's the reason he was in it to give spiderman a reason to come back and to introduce the sinister six. One guy said it wasn't dark... gwens death was plenty dark for me... and in the middle of the movie when he's listening to music the lyrics are"I'll catch you when you're falling" completely heart wrenching. Only reason it wasn't five stars isbecause goblin was rushed but his screen time was epic.. loved his suit and story of disease and if any other comic nerd noriced when he put the project "venom" serum into him there was black running up the veins of his neck... my theory is that Venom the villian is created when the spider venom reacts to someones blood... the venom symbiote reacted with harrys blood differently becuz of the disease which will help set up for venom spin off movie. Electro was epic

The Amazing Spiderman movies were underrated, over hated, and never given a chance. Their flaws were exagerrated, their high points ignored, and they were swept away to churn out another reboot. I implore people to take another look. These movies were impeccably cast, good dialog, great special effects, and importantly they captured the theme of Spiderman and his relationship with the City. Spidey sacrifices everything, even his true love to make the NY a safer place to live. But he cant save everyone, and the villains in this movie are born not necessarily from evil as much as from resentment. Max Dillon aka Electro is a mentaly ill person, downtrodden and mistreated by society. He is saved by Spidey but it isnt enough. He wants Spiderman to save him from his lousy life. Ditto Harry Osborn who is near death and needs Spiderman's blood. The great tragedy of Spiderman is that his very presense ignites more hatred. Nevertheless, when he is absent, evil becomes more oppresive. A lot of people were critical of the films ending scene but my interpretation was that it meant that Spiderman, in spite of his tragedies, would continue on to fight for justice.

A reboot that is not living up to it's full potential. It lacks in story and the villains (Electro & Rhino) are cheesy and WAY over the top. Dane Dehaan's portrayal as Harry Osborn was just good, except for when he's the Green Goblin for only 10 seconds. Some moments are good, but this film has plenty of filth on it... But its not as bad as Spiderman 3.... WORD OF ADVICE SONY: Don't force villains, and actually read the script...just saying, some of the dialogue is crap.
