About this movie

In the vein of "Supersize Me", Damon Gameau becomes a human guinea-pig when he puts himself through a grueling 6 week diet consuming the equivalent of 40 teaspoons of sugar a day... the average daily amount consumed by teenagers! This bold, colourful and entertaining film explores all things "sweet" and exposes the damage that fructose (processed sugar) is doing to a generation of addicts.

We loved it. I got so much out of it and so did my daughter. This should be a teaching tool for children. She understood this easily and has drawn pictures of bad liver and bad sugars. She is aware of sugars now and what it can do to her. she wants to be a bird so she doesn't want any bad foods affecting her flying. Lol. We are planting a green garden. We have herbs and she actually snacks on what she grows which is mostly basil and carrots:) I'm enjoying eating again.

Creative presentation of how the added sugar epidemic is killing. I was really impressed at how entertaining this film was. It is kid friendly so it should hold your child's interest. Some comment stated incorrectly that fructose is not a processed food. That is incorrect. If fructose is modified from its original medium (fruits and vegetables), it had been processed. This applies to high fructose corn syrup especially. All added sugars are dangerous in excess.

I always knew that sugar wasn't supposed to be good for you, but now I actually understand why! I think it would be impossible to watch this film and not reexamine the way you eat and I believe my life will be better for it. This movie should be required viewing in elementary schools because the message is so clear and is presented in a captivating and playful way.
