Terminator: Dark Fate

Coming from the director of Deadpool this is a massive disappointment. The action most of all. Even the Fast & Furious franchise would look at the setpieces in this and think it's outlandish, cartoonish and preposterous and reject it. I don't know why the Terminator franchise felt it was necessary to go in this direction, as the original was a small-scale serial killer movie with a sci-fi twist. Also, why does the terminator have to get more and more gimmicky? Nothing can beat the liquid metal of the T-1000 so don't even try. As for John getting killed off, this is also inexplicable to me. I think it's a shame James Cameron no longer thinks it's feminist for a mother to do all she can to protect her child and for Cameron to do to his own creation what Alien 3 did to Aliens when Newt was killed.

I gave it four stars but there is probably a few bad things about this movie which in all honesty should have meant it only gets three stars. But aside from that, Arnie is as good as ever and it's better than the other terminator movies since T2. I watched it twice cause it's just good fun. If you like terminator movies then watch it!

It's not a perfect film by any means but it's definitely a good continuation of terminator 2. I mean it might as well be called a terminator 2 remake seeing how similar the two movies' plots are. Even the ending has a very similar feeling. It has some moments which didn't really have a purpose and some scenes got a little boring but overall a very good film and worth the watch if you like terminator films or action in general.
