I've been a Nolan fan since Memento and have mostly loved everything he's done since, however this movie has an overbearing soundtrack that even when watching at home I found the dialogue hard to hear. It also has very janky editing, and the "villain" was literally just a bad guy check list, every bad guy cliche in one. The plot was incredibly self indulgent and unnecessarily convoluted, Inception didn't need such extensive explanation, and neither did this. Some cool scenes is all you'll get.

Nope. Nolan's worst movie in a long time. Maybe for all time. I think he tries too hard to confuse the audience. And if he does make the movie hard to follow, he smiles and says "success." I see a lot of complaints about the mix of the soundtrack but I was too busy laughing at this movie. It was like they dropped everything into a wood chipper and whatever order the movie came out was the final cut. Rented this one, won't be adding it to my collection though. If you like random confusion, this one is for you.

I was bored into frustrated anger. This was the first and only film that we saw in a theater since the pandemic and I spent 80% of my time wishing that I could just change the channel. It was predictable, the dialog was dull and pretentious BUT worst of all were the disappointing action scenes for what should have been some pretty amazing visuals given the premise. It's a forgettable entry in a year with limited options. Blah.
