About this movie

Before Star Wars, director George Lucas created this haunting vision of the future starring Academy Award winner Robert Duvall. In the 25th century, humans exist in a computer-controlled subterranean world where emotions are outlawed, mind-numbing drugs are mandated and no one has a name, only an alphanumeric designation. But one man, THX 1138 (Duvall), secretly resists his drug regimen and commits the cardinal crime against the state--he experiences love.

It was way ahead of it's time and you have to pay attention to grasp the depth of what's happening. For today's short attention span that is a no-no but it is needed to make this movie's message work.

Some parts are cool and interesting and some are boring, but it's a good watch

This is Lucas' best movie. And that's not knocking the original SW trilogy...it's good. Yeah, the pacing might seem dated. But it's not. Making the viewer sit with their thoughts is an almost lost art. This is the one Lucas should be famous for, and it's great that it's available again!
