About this movie

Ethan Smith works as a rock & roll DJ for a radio station in Seattle. It’s a great gig, but doesn’t exactly pay him a living wage. In the same building is a conservative radio talk show station with a popular local host. When the host goes missing before his show, Ethan steps in and pretends to be a Republican pundit. His fictitious persona, Charles Fern, is an instant hit and becomes “the new voice of right-wing talk radio”. What was meant to be a one-time thing becomes a high-paying job, and Ethan is foisted onto the national stage where he may lose everything- including the love of his life.

The movie missed the mark in every way. It was yet another played attempt at assaulting the right wing but is nothing more than left wing propaganda. It doesn't matter who you are voting/did vote for because this movie falls flat. The Alex Beh character is boring. The "transformation" he makes is totally predictable. The writing is off because it is filled with these hipster references that are obvious and not amusing. The director made a very one-dimensional movie where you can't care about any of the characters.

Swing State was such a great film to watch!! I have seen it a few times now and every time it gets better and better! The quality in both picture and sound were fantastic, you can really tell how much effort was put into this project. The original music was delivered wonderfully and fits perfectly with the tone and feeling of the movie. If you want to smile, laugh and see a great story unfold...Swing State is the movie for you! I for one think the dialogue was hilarious and the timing could not have been better considering this upcoming election.

Watched this with some friends. We thought it would be relevant and timely, but it was not. There is nothing funny about this movie. The plot does not exist. There is nothing clever about the story and the humor is really aimed at a highly unintelligent audience. One reviewer likened this to House of Cards. I mean that is absurd. House of Cards is a brilliantly acted, written and directed show. This film is not even worthy of watching for free on an airplane.
