this was, without a shadow of a doubt one of the grosses movies i have seen in a long time. if you love tragedies, and watching blood spray absolutely everywhere, you will love this movie. I do admit that I really enjoyed the fact that this movie was a musical, not only that, had it not been so gross, and i mean GROSS, i probably would have liked this odd movie. that being said, i was far too gory for me to stomach, truly i almost lost my dinner while watching parts of this movie , and so, i gave this a rather poor rating. Great acting, wonderful plot, i just could not stomach the blood.

I really enjoyed this movie. I loved the dark undertone that came along with it. I also liked both Helena and Johnny, they always make a good team and in this movie that definately shows. Except in a more darker way. This movie was pretty gory. Which i thought suited the movie well, I also think this goes to show that Tim Burton aint a one-trick pony. I was definately reccomend this movie, especially if you like deeply pyschotic charecters, gore, dark undertones and musicals.

I will forever think musicals are best on the silver screen. The imagery is caught, all of it. One can just get swept away by it. Sweeney Todd masters this. The imagery is a sight to behold. I have never seen Sweeney Todd until this rental. I am quite glad I rented this musical. It is worth watching. Unique in such a way that is is worth 4.9 stars. I would give it a 5 yet I can not get myself to buy it. Just too dark , I would not have in my library a work as dark as this. Thats me though...............
