About this movie

Suicide Squad Extended Cut is the must-own version with more action and more Squad! Watch the movie with extra footage not seen in theaters. It feels good to be bad… Assemble a team of the world’s most dangerous, incarcerated Super Villains, provide them with the most powerful arsenal at the government’s disposal, and send them off on a mission to defeat an enigmatic, insuperable entity. U.S. intelligence officer Amanda Waller has determined only a secretly convened group of disparate, despicable individuals with next to nothing to lose will do. However, once they realize they weren’t picked to succeed but chosen for their patent culpability when they inevitably fail, will the Suicide Squad resolve to die trying, or decide it’s every man for himself?

Extended cut only really includes like 10-15 minutes with more scenes of Joker & Harley, it makes the movie better, but these scenes should have already been brought into the original film. As for the film itself, it is good, character development is good; but it is centered to much on Deadshot and Harley. The characters are loveable and okay compared to their comic book counterparts. Harley and Joker have a romantic relationship, which is nothing compared to the comics, but they made it somewhat work. Suicide Squad includes humor, action, romance and a great sense of understanding. The movie itself has a good story, but kind of falls when it comes to its ending closure. The acting is great and the characters are acceptable.

Wow, this is far and away better than the theatrical release. It still has it's share of problems, but damn, they well and truly butchered the movie for release. Harley, while still in a psychotic relationship, is far more the self made lunatic we all came to know and love, and not just an unfortunate victim of manipulation and torture. This takes me from hating Jared Leto as the Joker, to actually enjoying him. There are still problems with the overall story, but this adds the missing pieces back in. I loathed the theatrical release, it had all this potential that was completely pissed away. The extended cut, while obviously a cash grab, is the superior version and has left me very curious about what other scenes were cut before release that could have made this an even better film. The theatrical release was barely 2 stars for me (and that was because I enjoyed the casting of the squad and some of the background scenes), but this one still only gets 4 stars, because in the end, there are problematic story holes. Sometimes it's better to let a movie run long, than just gut it in a shameless cash grab and hope that big names and flashy scenes will save a butchered movied. This should have been what was released in theaters, and I hope they release all the cut scenes at some point, just so we can see if there was an even better, more cohesive movie in there somewhere.

A bit of a letdown. Margot Robbie was fun as Harley, but it just wasnt enough. First, this shouldn't have been a PG13 film. Second, the plot was too thin and uninspired. Third, the action was very subpar. There were a few redeeming moments and performances, making this a middling entry. Still better than the Zack Snyder excretions
