About this movie

Get ready for a "rock 'n' roll fable" unlike anything you've seen before in this sexy, gritty thriller starring Hollywood heavyhitters Willem Dafoe, Diane Lane, Amy Madigan, Michael Paré and Rick Moranis. When tempestuous singer Ellen Aim (Diane Lane) is kidnapped by the vicious Raven Shaddock (Willem Dafoe) and a ruthless gang of motorcycle thugs, it's up to a handsome loner (Michael Paré) to rescue her. With the assistance of a hard-as-nails woman warrior (Amy Madigan) and manager Billy Fish (Rick Moranis), he enters a shocking world of neon-lit streets, fast cars, and killer assassins lurking around every corner. Powered by an intense soundtrack, performed by such greats as The Fixx and The Blasters, this cult classic features songs written by Stevie Nicks, Tom Petty and Ry Cooder. It's an all-out attack on the senses that you can't afford to miss!

Walter Hill at his best here. This movie was far ahead of its time, which is saying something with all the homage it has for urban noir, westerns, and other pop Americana in cinema and music. It is a dark, gritty, fairy tale, where happily ever after is replaced with, as good as it gets in a bleak economically depressed industrialized and yet crumbling for the people caught up in it world, particularly the young. Does it get a little hammy? Yes, but that serves the core concept, a fairy tale. This one just happens to be for somewhat jaded adults, who know that the guy getting the girl and everyone's accolades isn't what really matters in the end. Amy Madigan and Willem Dafoe especially make this movie with their supporting roles.

This is a typical '80s cheesy movie, but I love Diane Lane, & I love the songs her character "sings". I'm not sure if Diane is singing 4 real or it's someone else. Either way it's 1 of my favorites.

Great actors (before they were 'great'!), HORRIBLE script and dialogue! Robotic acting! Better line delivery at a table read! Lead actor looks like he cruises the highschool parking lot...
