About this movie

A madcap fairy tale musical inspired by "A Midsummer Night's Dream." Popular songs from the past six decades help tell the tale of a colorful cast of goblins, elves, fairies and imps, and their hilarious misadventures sparked by the battle over a powerful potion. Lucasfilm Animation Singapore and Industrial Light & Magic, which created the CGI animation for 2011's Academy Award®-winning film "Rango," bring to life the fanciful forest turned upside down with world-class animation and visual effects.

Well, this definitely had the ingredients to capitalize on frozen frenzy, but it failed miserably. Even my 5 year old find it boring. Story is dull and flat, I mean Disney was able to show me in a 3 min song how nala and simba fell in love. In this one they fail miserably in their attempt at the same thing. I dunno how to explain it but I just didn't enjoy it at all

Honestly, I didn't really watch the trailer or anything before watching it so that I wouldn't have any preconceptions or standards before watching it. But maybe if I had watched the trailer I would've known it would have been bad. First off, there was basically no character development, the plot was pretty weak, apparently it was a musical, and there wasn't a lot of conflict (if there was it was resolved almost immediately.) It was just a really unsatisfying movie to watch. And a waste of money and time... I have no idea why it has so many good reviews. I mean I'm sure little kids may like it, because they won't really know what a good movie looks like yet. But for all other ages, don't waste your time.

The movie was gorgeous. And I was annoyed in the first two minutes. I think if it hadn't been bad remixes of good songs, I might have been neutral. There were good points to the movie and if the singing time had been spent better developing characters it might have had depth. But overall my wife and I spent the first half of the movie rolling our eyes and if our son hadn't been watching, we would have turned it off.
