A dramatic thriller directed by Academy Award® winner Tom McCarthy and starring Matt Damon, Stillwater follows an American roughneck from Oklahoma who travels to Marseilles to visit his estranged daughter in prison, for a murder she claims she did not commit. The movie is was good, Mat Daman did a great job portraying a Dad trying to make a amends with his daughter, who is in prison. Along the way he trys to fix his past mistakes with a mother and daughter whom he befriends in search of the truth to his daughters imprisonment. The story tho has a familiar feel to it from the Amanda Knox story/trials

I enjoyed the film, but at the same time I couldn't help but see the connection to another real life story that played out in Italy. And there are multiple holes in the plot.

the movie could have been better if they would have translated the acting that was in French. Felt like I missed some of the story.
