About this movie

Set against the backdrop of Baltimore’s inner city, Step chronicles the senior year in a girls’ high school step dance team. Empowered by their teachers, coaches, families, and each other, they strive to win a championship and go to college. Deeply insightful and inspiring, this powerful film embodies the true meaning of sisterhood through a story of courageous young women worth cheering for.

It is so good and very inspiring. A lot of people are saying they "don't understand how watching people stomp around is inspiring". It's not just about that. Of course the STEPPING is beautiful! But this documentary is more than that... It helps you see how people who are lost or hopeless can find themselves and a measure of hope by having just one outlet in their life! It helps them to carry on. It also shows you how black women are MORE than their circumstances!
