I was the only member of the group who had seen anything Trek since TOS and while everyone enthused about the "Seamless Reboot" (it wasn't) and how good the actors were (they weren't) I stated the obvious, the story made no sense and was divorced from Trek Lore. The physics make no sense. The special fx were quite literally an eyesore, and the humour was so far off the mark it was tragic. If you like Trek, or well written movies, or well acted and directed movies, just watch Wrath of Khan. The real one.

The old franchise has been rebooted and done well. Spins off the old, with a change to the Space Time Continuum. Remember the old, it was fun, I'm personally fond of papier mache boulders. None of that, just enjoy it and don't over Nerd it.

The reboots are for a new audience, I love every thing StarTrek,except DS9- days of our lives in space yawn. Anyway there are flaws in every new reboots just enjoy it only cost couple of bucks stop whinging.
