About this movie

Forced to work long hours, single-mother Maggie (Academy Award®-nominee Melissa McCarthy) has no choice but to leave her 12-year-old son Oliver (newcomer Jaeden Lieberher) in the care of their new neighbor, Vincent (Academy Award®-nominee Bill Murray). Together with a pregnant stripper named Daka (Academy Award®-nominee Naomi Watts of THE IMPOSSIBLE), Vincent brings Oliver along on all the stops that make up his daily routine - the race track, the strip club, and the local dive bar. While Vincent hastens Oliver's introduction to manhood, Oliver begins to see something in Vincent that no one else is able to: a misunderstood man with a good heart. Also starring Chris O'Dowd (BRIDESMAIDS) and Academy Award®-nominee Terrence Howard (HUSTLE & FLOW, IRON MAN).

It was. But I loved the movie. It's the first time in a long time I have liked Melissa. Her characters have been so angry and unpleasant, even on Mike and Molly, so this was a nice break. All the characters from the Russian pregnant stripper to the boy and his mom, and even the nurse at his mom's nursing home and Bill Murphy They seemed genuine. No one got too crazy over the top dependent on the other, yet they were able to delve into the lives of the character where no one had either taken the time or cared enough before. . I think sometimes our society is the most surface, shallow people you'd ever hope not to meet. Such a sweet boy, but I was glad he didn't wait too long t protect himself, not unlike the kid on the Bad Santa, One of my favorite parts was seeing the bully and him become best friends, seeing the bully share his pain. Just all around nice, feel good, sad, but happy they found each other during as each was scared and lonely during such tough times.

This movie is possibly the most beautiful story I've ever experienced. It may be just a movie but few have such an emotional and spiritual impact (and I'm in no way religious) . It made me feel something I've never known... crying while laughing, being able to appreciate life with a sense of humor even though you may be in the worst situation, when everything is against you and the end seems so far away. This is an ode to the forgotten and lost. One selfless act can change the life of another. This movie proves that point in the only way possible.. watch it to find out.

St. Vincent is a sweet, heartfelt comedy that stands out thanks to Murray's excellent performance. I'm not sure I would have liked this film if Murray had not been in the title role. He carries the film unlike he ever has before. The film is hilarious, and he has practically no help from Melissa McCarthy, who only shows up at the most serious parts of the movie to yell at Murray and adds nothing to the movie as a whole. Bravo Bill Murray, I can honestly say that you should be proud of this performance.
