Introduced my daughter to Sonic half-expecting not to like it myself as I've been disappointed in every Sonic-related game and animation since Sonic 3... But this movie manages to tell a decent story with a relatable hero and a *fantastic* villain, some genuine not-cringeworthy laughs along the way - and an inspired soundtrack! It's the breakthrough makeover the Sonic IP has needed for decades. Daughter is in love with all things Sonic now, and I'm happy to say I'm optimistic for the sequel.

I too saw this at the movies, went in with an open mind, came out very pleasantly surprised at the storyline. Ben does a really good job of Sonic, Jim not so much with his Robotnik role (sure he was funny, but still has a way to go). Tip: Keep watching when the credits start rolling, there's TWO extra clips, the second one has a very familiar character show up, dropping a HUGE hint at a sequel.

I think the movie was great had some funny moments decent story and a cool clip at the end, most of all I love how the negative response to Sonics appearance lead to the director completely changing his look (which must have cost a fortune). They listened to the people and delivered a great replacement. I have no issues spending money to support these guys and would love to see more sega movies in the future!
