About this movie

October 1944, Auschwitz-Birkenau. Saul (Géza Röhrig) is a Hungarian member of the Sonderkommando, the group of Jewish prisoners forced to assist the Nazis in the machinery of large-scale extermination. While working, Saul discovers the body of a boy he takes for his son. As the Sonderkommando plans a rebellion, Saul decides to carry out an impossible task: save the child's body from the flames, find a rabbi to recite the mourner's Kaddish and offer the boy a proper burial.

How many of these guilt trip WW2 Jewish movies are they going to make? (Rhetorical) I can't stomach anymore of these "Boo Hoo, Poor Jews" propaganda films.

This movie shows how sick and selfish men can be - didn't like the narrative/storyline. It was difficult to watch because of the camera angles. It was a movie about a psychopath who had a sick fascination with boys who happened to be enslaved during the Holocaust.

For movies about the holocaust this takes a unique look at the story. A dark "life is beautiful" if you will with less narrative. Well shot and well acted. The subtitles are poor tho - I would recommend not watching here on Google and getting a copy.
