About this movie

Tina Fey (TV's Saturday Night Live, 30 Rock) and Amy Poehler (TV's Saturday Night Live, Parks and Recreation) reunite in Sisters, the story of two disconnected sisters summoned home to clean out their childhood bedroom before their parents sell the family house. Looking to recapture their glory days, they throw one final high-school-style party for their classmates, which turns into the cathartic rager that a bunch of ground-down adults really need. Critics say Sisters is "hilarious, heartfelt, & downright dysfunctional." - Ramascreen.com (Original Title - Sisters) - 2015 Universal Studios. All Rights Reserved.

This was a sleazy, meandering piece of self indulgence with hardly any plot, jokes or likeability. To start with, why shouldn't Kate and Maura's parents have sold their own house? As supposed adults the sisters should have been making their own way in the world. Kate had nobody but herself to blame for her situation and should have been told by Maura to start getting herself together. Instead of which little sis gets roped into the bad behaviour like a fourteen year old lured behind the bike sheds with cigarettes and cider. It's about the age the two of them act as they talk not just dirty but plain disgusting and swear for the sheer sake of it. However, what really made me see red - and no more of this film - was the writers thinking drugs are a source of comedy. I really cannot understand why two such talented and clever comic actresses put their names to such dross!

Hugely sentimental, filled with unfunny slapstick and criminally lacking in jokes, this was a massive disappointment. Fey and Poehler are both enormously talented. How they went so wrong here is baffling to me.

I was so disappointed with this film, filled with stupid juvenile behavior and jokes which made me cringe rather than laugh. Watched the first half, then decided life was simply too short. I do not recommend Sisters as a movie to watch and enjoy.. clearly one to avoid.
