The opening sequence was done dreadfully wrong, myself and a couple friends could do one much better with a Kodak camera. The lighting was just horrid, during most of the film all I could see was a few dim lights and hardly anything else. Yes, it was suspenseful at these points - but I found it particularly irritating. Some bits were blatantly predictable. MAYBE worth the $6 I paid to rent the movie. On the positive side, there were a few moments where I jumped, mainly due to the rediculously loud sounds - finally an improvement. When watching Paranormal Activity (1, 2, 3 - Didn't even bother with the fourth) not once did I flinch. Insidious wasn't much better on it's own but was a little more interesting. I wasn't expecting one or two things, which did admittedly cause a jump scare. Overall it's an OKAY movie, not one I will be adding to my collection anytime soon. But something to watch when you're bored and have nothing else to do and you're looking for a few jump-scares for the night. Otherwise I wouldn't really recommend this. The preview looked a tad more startling than the actual movie was. They just don't make Horror movies like they used to...

Great idea but the execution of this movie was awful. The lighting is terrible, some of the acting was worse. The first hour of the movie dragged on for so long, it was like they rushed to finish it in the last 40 minutes. There were so many details about the movie, it seems they didnt know how to tie them all together, the ending felt like an after thought. The movie had potential, but it just wasn't done very well.
