About this movie

Academy Award® winning director MARTIN SCORSESE once again teams up with LEONARDO DICAPRIO in this spine-chilling thriller that critics say sizzles with so much suspense that it's hot to the touch. When U.S. Marshal Teddy Daniels (DiCaprio) arrives at the asylum for the criminally insane on Shutter Island what starts as a routine investigation quickly takes a sinister turn. As the investigation unfolds and Teddy uncovers more shocking and terrifying truths about the island he learns there are some places that never let you go.

This movie was a great movie! What exceptional acting, Leonardo DiCaprio! I will have to admit even though it's great, to say the least, I had to sit for a while and think about things. It put me out of sorts for a moment. I was literally sick to my stomach. But overall, if I thought I could watch it again, without upsetting my mind, I probably would.

Truly a one of kind film. I would consider it to be its own category of "inception" type of genre. The layers of the film keeps you calculating and guessing what's next: a fight of government conspiracy or insanity.

I remembered the previews at release but never saw this until a few months ago. It's a captivating, fun mystery thriller that's worth a watch. It's not going on the Top Ten of All Time lists but a solid flick.
