the only seeming connection to the books in this are really just look-a-like characters and a few references. The stories they feature are changed completely. There are constant political references that have no real service to the plot, but rather just a loose connection to a particular character. Several things in this film either raise lots of questions, especially by the end, or are introduced and then ultimately dropped forever. Also this film was basically one big intro sequence.

The movie sucked. Watched the trailer and was expecting something scary. The scariest part of the entire movie was the IT Chapter 2 trailer before the movie. I swear, I've never sat through a jump scare without flinching and staring straight ahead at the screen before this movie. (Spoilers, not that you're even going to watch this awful movie) The movie had the overused "give the bad guy a motivational speech about how they can be different" ending, and overall just sucked.

I grew up reading the original trilogy. Just the artwork alone was enough to drive a person mad(the original art, not the silly garbage they replaced it with later on). This movie is poorly written. They didn't use the actual stories. They stole the title and some characters from the book, and catfished all of us. The Silver Lining: Thankfully, these days people don't wait 20 years before rebooting something. Perhaps we will get the anthology series we and the original trilogy deserve.
