About this movie

Shame was his prison...Love set him free. Using the untold story of Christian music legend Russ Taff, I Still Believe reveals how the redeeming power of the Gospel can change hearts, save lives and hold a marriage together through the unimaginable obstacles of abuse, anger, shame and alcoholism. Award-winning director Rick Altizer (Chonda Pierce Laughing in The Dark and Enough) traces Russ's story from an abused child to Christian music's #1 male vocalist. During the time Russ was wining 6 Grammy awards and 16 Dove awards, he was living a secret life as an alcoholic. His battle with temptation and sin will speak to millions of Christians who struggle with shame. This is also the story of his wife of 42 years, Tori, who refused to be a victim and was determined to save Russ's life. Her tough love, fervent prayers and unfailing devotion helped lead Russ out of the darkness and into the loving arms of Jesus. Rarely do you see a "superstar" being this vulnerable and real. Russ spent a career in hiding, but now he is completely unashamed to show his scars. While the movie has Russ's name on it, it is really about Jesus, who pursues all of us with His redeeming love. Seeing the marriage miracle of Russ and Tori is faith inspiring and hope generating. Sharing this movie with others can help heal a broken life and inspire deeper relationships with a spouse and with God. Featuring appearances by Bill Gaither, Amy Grant, Bart Millard, Chonda Pierce, Michael W. Smith, Michael Tait, Steven Curtis Chapman and Mark Lowry.
