About this movie

Two-time Academy Award-winner Ron Howard delivers the exhilarating true story of a legendary rivalry that rocked the world. During the sexy and glamorous golden age of Formula 1 racing, two drivers emerged as the best: gifted English playboy James Hunt (Chris Hemsworth, The Avengers) and his methodical, brilliant Austrian opponent, Niki Lauda (Daniel Brühl, Inglourious Basterds). As they mercilessly clash on and off the Grand Prix racetrack, the two drivers push themselves to the breaking point of physical and psychological endurance, where there's no shortcut to victory and no margin for error. Co-starring Olivia Wilde (TRON: Legacy), it's the heart-racing, epic, action-drama that critics are calling "one of the best movies of this, or any, year" (Pete Hammond, Movieline).

The best movie of 2013, its accuracy and photography are near perfect. The race scenes are gut wrenching. And the documented rivalry of two of Formula One's finest drivers during the 1976 season is amazing. If this isn't Ron Howard's best movie, and I've seen them all, I don't know what is. Watch this movie and remember, what you're seeing is exactly what happened. The last race and final scene should bring chills to your body. I convinced a friend to watch the video. His response, "Rush is a great movie."

I grew up in racing town & state and met famous racers on & off track or in Hot Rod shops trying to learn some or few skills & I think.. this movie is very close in kind of the many characters that rolled into and flew in & a little above the race park or tracks.!

As a Formula 1 fan, I saw the movie knowing the story just not knowing how they were going to tell it. As a Formula 1 fan, I think they told the story beautifully. It wasn't overdramatised, and they didn't take liberties all over the place. They just told the story and captured the characters, and very well I might add. The racing scenes weren't too special but that wasn't exactly the point of the movie. It was about 2 people with completely opposite personalities that are competing almost to their death but while still maintaining the utmost respect for eachother. It is an amazing story and Ron Howard told it very well. There were also a lot of little details they throw in there which were interesting too. Plus I like the way they incorporated real footage of the crashes and stuff without throwing it at you. And they recreated somethings that if you're a fan you'll notice, otherwise I doubt it, like Hunt's "Big balls" line for example.
