About this movie

Janardhan Jakhar lives in his own world, encompassed with music and dreams of mesmerizing the world with his voice. Midst unsuccessful auditions, and thwarted attempts in creating music, this Delhi boy imbibes a priceless piece of advice from his mentor friend -- great music is borne from great pain. He who hasn't experienced the pain of heartbreak shall not know the depth and intensity of sublime music.
Janardhan now sets out to find the pain that will make his life and music go beyond the realm of the ordinary. He proposes to Heer, the stunning beauty from the college. Quiet and subdued, Heer has a well of emotion hidden inside, a ocean of unfettered energy waiting to exude. The story of Janardhan and Heer starts off as one of laughter and mirth, but with every passing day, this becomes more intense, more passionate and more vulnerable.
Heer and Janardhan get separated, as she gets married off to Prague. Janardhan's pain of separation translates into words and music, transcending the heart and the soul. Janardhan becomes Jordan, as he relentlessly pursues his love, at once pining away and accepting the absence of Heer in his life. At the end, as he spirals down the road of fame and fortune in his professional life, Jordan realizes that his and Heer's story exists beyond the worldly, in his imagination, where the music is pure and the only drug needed is true love.

More depth than you'd initially think for a movie titled "Rockstar." A young musician has talent, but lacks the fire and drive that propels regular guitarists to true stardom. When a canteen owner at his college says that he needs to experience pain and heartbreak to tap into his inner genius, he decides to declare his love to the hottest girl at school, get rejected, and get the ball rolling. Except it doesn't quite work like that...she turns out to be the chocolate to his peanut butter and, even though she's to be married, they form a tight bond that will keep drawing them together even as their lives change. This is a very powerful movie which explores loss, the fire of creativity, the emptiness of fame, and how having a kindred spirit in your life pushes you forward as well as grounds you. The songs are great (if you like rock), the cinematography is stunning, and after a shaky start, the romance is touching and tragic. Worth a watch to experience the characters' journeys.

It's songs are Powerful. take for example Nadaan parinde,Tum ho,Tumko, Aur ho , Sadda haq,kun faya kun etc Mohit chauhan's Magical voice and AR Rahman's divine composition mixes with each other like Alcohol mixes with water. it's a master piece. One thing to say this movie was shooted in our school (Delhi) (The White building you see where jordan shows middle finger) i have watched it 3-4 times and i loved it.

One of the few(best), indian cinema has ever made..no lag in between. Theatrical portray, very pleasant music and great voice of mohit chauhan under the maestro A.R Rahman. My favourite actor who always nailed the character he opts. He cant even let you feel that he is acting as he always made that character so lively by his performance that a fictional persona seems to be present live among us. No reason to hate this movie. I remember the date of its release and i believe you too if you are fan of this movie i.e 11/11/11
