Risen

Not worth the price to rent. Though the idea of the story is interesting the acting was not the best, nor were the special effects. The ending could have been more interesting if they had gone into more depth of what was happening. Could be turned into a Si-Fi series but would need an entirely different crew working on it.

Interesting premise, but execution was dull. Main actress was poorly advised (I assume) to persistently convey a sense of silent befuddlement that, for some reason, didn't motivate her to take any action, but compelled her to stare without focus, look weepy, and let her jaw hang open slightly. Director chose to film her in slow motion at times, which only compounded the sense of inertia in the movie and the character. An event of the magnitude described in the film would garner much stronger action, deliberation, and emotion than this movie chose to contain. Notice that the writer, director, and producer, are the same person--a clue that specialized talent was not a prerequisite for work on this movie.

This was bad all around. The story has potential; it's an interesting premise. The execution is a different story all together. As in terrible. The writing is bad. The acting is very bad. The CGI is very bad. The plot is bad. The cinema photography is mediocre. The directing was awful! Attention to detail doesn't exist. Such as hazmat suits with heavily cracked screens or what we're suppose to believe is Pennsylvania being more like Siberia. Their depiction of the "American Farmer" is ... about 70 or 80 years off lol.
