Reign of Fire

When it comes to movies about dragons, this briskly paced action-packed thriller is probably the greatest that I have ever seen. I had a blast from start to finish, and when the credits started at the end, I feel wowed. "Reign of Fire" is the kind of movie that anyone could possibly wish for in a dragon movie. It is a big, loud, and hugely enjoyable popcorn thriller that relishes in imagination; I can tell that this is the grown-up version of boys playing with their toys and playsets, because this will affect the hearts and souls of teenagers with an inner child with nostalgia. It shows that translating the wonder through a child's imagination into a movie can be translated so well. It is also a considerable good-vs-evil post-apocalypse/fantasy/war hybrid where the stakes could never be higher as both humans and dragons have both brains and brawn that are equally matched with lethal results. And I must add that Rob Bowman (director) and his company has executed a large amount of brilliant ideas for every aspect that makes "Reign of Fire" riveting and gripping. The locations are immersive. The cinematography by Adrian Biddle is haunting. The slick action sequences offer breathtaking thrills. The suspenseful moments are taut and superbly staged. There are some effectively agreeable moments. There are times where the attractive atmosphere is tense with a great use of sounds. And there are some impressive lines of dialogue as well. The whole movie is intensified by the music score composed by Edward Shearmur and performed by the London Metropolitan Orchestra; It is a big stirring score that adds heavy gravity to the film. The characters are worth remembering; they rely on tenacious teamwork, agreeable compassion, sophisticated brains, and powerful brawn that they all posses to be great heroes that gives "Reign of Fire" a heart. The performances by the cast who played the characters really get involved and reflect their characterizations. Christian Bale plays the main protagonist "Quinn." He is a sympathetic and quick-witted hero who provides good care for the orphans in the Bamburgh Castle. Gerard Butler plays "Creedy." He is Quinn's best friend and a truly supportive side-character. Matthew McConaughey is brilliant as Denton Van Zan. He is a knowledgeable dragon slayer with captivating exposition to tell. Izabella Scorupco is great as Alex Jensen. She is Denton's sidekick that has an engaging soft side for Quinn. The dragons are an intimidating force of nature; they are intelligent, ferocious, invincible killing machines that evolved throughout history as they killed the dinosaurs and pushes the human race into extinction. This entire dragon race is dominated by the main antagonist: the bull dragon. This alpha male dragon is a daunting beast of monstrous proportions; he is brought to vivid life by persuasive CGI. The design of the bull dragon makes him look menacing. And (no spoilers) to make matters worse, he has devoured Quinn's family member ever since he has been disturbed from his century-long slumber. In conclusion: It's laced with testosterone, it's full of thumping adrenaline, it relishes in brilliant ideas alongside the nostalgic imagination, and it excels in genuine fun that's dramatically involving. Highly Recommended!

Its Okay I guesse. Its really confusing with some character plot holes. But the dragons are very well made for a 2002 movie. The action just gets repetive. The acting was good with Christian Bale and Matthew McConaughey but plot did not work me. I still recommend the becouse its probably the best dragon movie ever made. So watch, maybe you'll like.

Def a rewatchable movie, in top 100. best dragon movie. Plot line, dragons, actors and special effects moves smoothly along through the movie. Def worth your time. BTW, dragons are real, more being seen as veil thins, along with other creatures, seen live on yt videos, go to- it's a surreal World, check it out for yourself.
