Promising Young Woman

I seriously think this is the BEST movie I have seen in decades!!! Oh my god, it had such a powerful impact on me, Carrie Mulligan’s performance was outstanding and so riveting that I felt personally invested not only in her well-being, but in Nina’s as well. The entire movie was just that well done, and had that powerful a message, I don’t see how anyone can watch it and not come away powerfully impacted, at both the reality of the subject matter being dealt w/, and the powerful message the movie sends regarding justice and accountability. Just a masterpiece all around. I will tell every person I know to watch this film. It is heavy, but well worth it.

Carey Mulligan delivers a great performance & cinematography is beautiful. The portrayal of predatory men of all types being caught in their own trap is entertaining & exploring the ongoing PTSD aspects for female victims was well done and felt original. At times the comedy worked, at other times it was a bit forced. My main quibble is with the last 20 mins - to serve up a good twist ending I felt like the core message & the heroine were betrayed in service of a stunt. 4*'s - Worth a watch

Promising Young Woman is one of the very best pictures of the year with Mulligan giving a fantastic performance. This film seems to be 2020's Joker, the character of Mulligan is like Phoenix's Joker. The film has alot to say about stuff that goes on that is unfortunate and should never happen, but the forgiveness in here rather then revenge is a better way of things. However I had a thrill watching this, and the ending feels like the climatic insanity of Parasite. A momentum this is.
