If there could be perfection and beauty in the Alien franchise, this would be it. A far cry from James Cameron's Aliens. This new prequel addition has all the makings of a masterpiece, although some crew choices left me wondering if they were using their brains, ala Fifield & Milburn. Their demise is a comedic relief to a film that starts to take itself quite seriously at the start. Michael Fassbender/David has precise movement and verbal control portraying an android butler, his remarks and gestures are right on point. Noomi Rapace/Shaw and Guy Pearce/Sir Peter Weyland are great adversaries in this installment. The star studded cast leaves us wowing at each scene and performance. The technical aspect of the costuming by Janty Yates is also marvellous. I especially enjoyed the symbolism and clever editing which pinpoints each character's action and reaction as the story progresses. Even after 25 viewings I am still picking up new things. I just hope that we find ourselves at LV 223 again as I want to know what happened to the Deacon and the planet. Wish the book was in English, available in Japanese only.

Brilliant movie! After watching and reading numerous poor reviews it is quite clear that people who give this movie a poor rating just don't get it. It answers the age old question of mankind, which, will always, lead to other questions, regardless of belief. It also answers many questions left by the Alien saga to this point, and ties it all together. A very well crafted and well written movie so far into a series, unlike many other franchises that continue for the sake of it, it doesn't leave you wondering what the point of the movie is. Like I said, people who give this movie a poor rating are either not a genuine fan of the Alien franchise, or just plain don't understand the movie.

I've never been religious and so I, personally, enjoy the idea that our Creator(s), as well as their motive(s) may be very, very different from what we've been imagining all these millennia. But I still don't get that compulsive need to Ask Them Questions. Why they created us is their problem; why we continue to exist is ours. End of story. Well, apparently not: a sequel is coming, or so I've heard...
