I don't know why this is getting two stars. This should be one star. Here are the reasons why: Acting: The main character is dry and boring to watch. His motivations are contrary. Supporting actors are unhinged muppets. Pacing: Exposition city. Nothing is left to guess with the plot--they lay it all out for you in painful monologuing. Characters: Not a single redeemable character found. Main cast are non-Asian portrayals set in an Asian setting, with the majority of the supporting cast being portrayed as overblown stereotypes. This should have been a fun schlocky movie to watch, but it ended up being a marathon of enduring the movie to get to the end. Buy pizza instead.

I wanted to enjoy this movie. Love him or hate him, Nicolas Cage is widely diverse and has excellent talent (see Pig). I'm also a fan of both Bill Moseley and Sion Sono films. This one just didn't hit the mark for me. The plot was uninteresting and there was no spectacular dialogue. A matter of fact, there wasn't much dialogue at all other than Moseley's governing chatter. I guess one amusing scene was when Cage got a testicle blown off.

I literally hated this movie so much, nothing else it's just terrible. I had to sit through the whole thing because my parent didn't want me to waste the money they spent on the ticket. It was absolute torture. I wondered at some point if they decided that would be my punishment for whatever made up slight I committed against them.
