A great movie, probably my favorite political movie. I cant think of one better that covers a presidential campaign and all the dirty business involved in winning. One of John Travolta's best performances in my opinion. This movie gives a glimpse of what you might imagine it was like behind closed doors when Bill Clinton ran for president. You definitely get a Bill and HIllary Clinton vibe from John Travolta and Emma Thompsons characters. I like the mix of both the satire of politics and campaigns in this county, and also the more serious heartfelt idealistic theme of following the ideals you have when your young and trying to live up to them. If you are interested in seeing a well acted and enjoyable movie about politics you should watch this movie before any others.

If you are a political junkie this is a great movie for you. Obviously it is a semi take on Bill Clinton. It shows that our political figures are flawed but also some want to do good. The scene in the doghnut shop symbolizes it all for me.
