About this movie

Precious Jones (Gabourey "Gabby" Sidibe) is a high-school girl with nothing working in her favor. She is pregnant with her father's child - for the second time. She can't read or write, and her schoolmates tease her for being fat. Her home life is a horror, ruled by a mother (Mo'Nique) who keeps her imprisoned both emotionally and physically. Precious's instincts tell her one thing: if she's ever going to break from the chains of ignorance, she will have to dig deeply into her own resources.

Based adapted from the 1996 novel, PUSH by author and performance poet Sapphire brings the story about Claireece "Precious" Jones a teenage girl from Harlem of New York City while living with her unemployed abusive mother, Mary on welfare. Precious has also been raped and sexually abused by her father, Carl, resulting in two pregnancies having daughter and son. Precious enrolls in an alternative school called Each One Teach One a pre-GED program. After being informed Precious's father died of AIDS soon later learns to find out she has HIV. This is Gabourey Sidibe's first acting debut on the film playing as a young black woman been struggling against poverty and abuse. I been knowing what it's like being neglected and never treated fairly. Learn to respect people spite how different they are neither their popular or unpopular, rich or poor, gifted or ungifted with themselves in what lifestyle society they're on.

Despite the negative reviews about the language people need to wake up and see that this movie is basically a reflection of what some real people in the world are going through. I had to watch this movie twice because it was extremely hard to watch due to the subject matter. I've even read the book and it just makes me wonder if the author was possibly abused due to how she wrote this story... It made me wonder if she can relate to what she wrote. I hope she didn't deal with it, but it makes you wonder...

I liked Precious role in this movie. Cause this is How Obesed People gets treated either its by family or people that know you. Now her Mother in this film was one of the worst Mothers Ive ever seen over a Man she clamed was hers and daughter was innocent in this film. She didnt persued that shed called hers. She didnt asked to be Raped and as a Mom still didnt believed your own daughter.. Just a Shame and Sick.. Poor child.. Now she deserves a Beat Down For Real.. She Showed Her In the End!!!!
