About this movie

Set in 79 A.D., Pompeii tells the epic story of Milo (Kit Harrington), a slave turned invincible gladiator who finds himself in a race against time to save his true love Cassia (Emily Browning), the beautiful daughter of a wealthy merchant who has been unwillingly betrothed to a corrupt Roman Senator (Kiefer Sutherland).  As Mount Vesuvius erupts in a torrent of blazing lava, Milo must fight his way out of the arena in order to save his beloved as the once magnificent Pompeii crumbles around him.

Not the worst movie I have ever seen but definitely not the best, not even close to the best movie I have ever seen. Unrealistic, Arena comes down on Kiefer Sutherland's (Senator Corvus) head, knocked out for a few minutes, gets up without a scratch while everyone around him was crushed to death or dying. The Gods weren't good to him, the writers were, Kit Harington (Milo) was boring, hard to believe he was a gladiator. The only decent actor was Adewale Akinnuoye-Agbaje (Atticus) made a good gladiator

Like others have said it was a mix between Titanic and Gladiator. And like Titanic, you know how this will end. However, the one thing I really appreciated, was the writer(s)/director trying to write a story to explain the stories behind some of the bodies that were found at the actual Pompeii dig sites. Look it up. At the beginning and ending of the movie, they showed you some of them. So if you look at it in that light, makes it more interesting, not necessarily a better move, but I give extra points for the concept/idea.

Not to bad of a movie I really wanted to see how Kit Harrington did as a leading man since I'm a big fan of his on the show Game Of Thrones. It's like a mix of the video game Ryse: Son of Rome with a love story thrown in the mix. I found this movie to be real predictable in what was going to happen and at the beginning it seemed as if Kit was trying to act to hard but as the movie went on I found he seemed to get better and better. The movie is worth seeing but a couple viewings is enough for me.
